TrentonWorks & Other Updates

August 10, 2020 9 Comments

On Friday ExactRail announced a new release of our TrentonWorks 67’-11” Bulkhead Flat Car in HO scale!

We have been hard at work shipping out the mountain of orders that came in over the weekend and those should start showing up to your doors in the next few days.

On these cars we have changed the material that is used for the wood on the bulkhead ends.  This is the same material that we have been using on our GSI 53’-6” Bulkhead flats.  If you would prefer to have the lighter basswood ends that were used on the previous production, let us know in the notes of your order and we will swap them out.  We only have a limited number of the basswood ends left, so availability is not guaranteed.

The TrentonWorks 67’-11” Bulkhead Flat Car is available to order now.

Other Updates

Now this is where I sit on the foot of the bed and do my best effort at a signature Danny Tanner pep talk.  (That will be the first and last Full House reference I will ever use.)

In January we showed off deco-samples of a new production of the Thrall 54’ CoilShield and Protector Coil Cars at the Railroad Hobby Show in West Springfield, MA.  We have been receiving many questions on what happened to those.  The Great and Powerful Wizard of COVID has caused significant delays to all projects that have been submitted for production.  The TrentonWorks Bulkhead Flat as well as another un-announced release (that just landed in Long Beach) were always in line ahead of the Coil Cars.  We now anticipate the coil cars will finally be released in Octoberish.  Maybe I should have just said fall?  FALL!  They will be here in the FALL of this terrible glorious year.

I do thank you for your patience and support.

Hoping for another run of DRGW coal hoppers soon. At over $100 a pop on ….. the demand is there.

Great, I was just wondering about the Coil Cars last week and now I see this. Oh, and by the way. I’m still waiting/anticipating the 73’ ft CryoTrans and BNSF Reefers (hint, hint).

Fingers crossed that your unannounced release is a modern plastic pellet hopper. Those dominate the prototype mixed freights these days. Five or six of those will run nicely with my other 20+ ExactRail fleet

Am very excited about the new run of Trenton cars and have four in the shipping stage as I write this.
I might have to just get the other two once these arrive!
This is hands down, THE Best, Prototypically accurate Bulkhead flatcar in HO.
Also hoping to see more of the Opera Window Thrall cars soon in new paint schemes !
Please keep them coming as we all love your products – wouldn’t hurt to see an All-New Announcement as well!!!

Modern tank cars like those with 2 man way domes and 6200 capacity plastic pellet hoppers like the ARI car would be nice.

I will be anxiously awaiting the coil cars. Mostly, I am hoping they are of the earlier versions, like in the 80’s or 90’s. Most recent release is too late for my modeling era. Thanks for all you all do, and above all, stay safe.
Jim
