Our passion for trains goes right to the bone. And so naturally following the show in Amherst, we couldn't resist visiting various eastern hotspots in search of information to support our research library. We were fortunate to be able to visit CSX's Selkirk Yard in eastern New York, Norfolk and Southern's Juniata Locomotive Shops in Altoona, PA and Conway Yard near Pittsburgh, PA. We also photographed Union Pacific's Ice Cold Express as it entered Schenectady, New York and visited the infamous Horseshoe Curves--a first for me personally. We stood in the cold, ate a lot of fast food, and took even more pictures. In short, it was great.
For those of you who enjoy railfanning, I've included some of our pictures from the event. Enjoy and happy railroading!
